LUQA ST ANDREWS F.C. defeated TODOS FC with the scoreline of 5-3 in the final of the 3rd/4th Division National Futsal Knock Out Competition. LUQA SA FC captain Lee Baldachino was presented with the 4th Division League Shield before the match, having won Section A this season.

The match kicked off with TODOS FC managing to keep possession and LUQA SA FC defender Stephen Cauchi making sure not to concede much at the back with Luqa goalkeeper Jeremy Gatt helping out when called into action . However the match soon started to become more entertaining , with TODOS FC managing to open the score with a rebound shot from Chris Brincat. It was just a couple of minutes later that LUQA SA managed to equalize with a deflected long range from Oliver Cutajar. LUQA took the lead again with a well taken shot by Lee Baldachino who exchanged passes with Mark Said upfront , who put Lee Baldachino in a position to have an attempt at goal and eventually score. TODOS FC equalized again with a powerful shot by TODOS FC defender Chris Brincat with a deflected long shot and just a few minutes later Melvin Xuereb managed to put TODOS FC upfront with a low shot which went past Gatt after a well build counter attack.

In the second half LUQA re-organized themselves with the introduction of defender Adrian Psaila and forward Malcolm Tirchett, following useful instructions by their coach Omar Camilleri. LUQA put up a lot of pressure on the TODOS defence and after a couple of good saves by TODOS goalkeeper denying Malcolm Tirchett from scoring, LUQA managed to equalize with a powerful low shot by Lee Baldachino. Just a few minutes later LUQA where awarded a penalty for a handsball inside the area. Lee Baldachino stepped up and scored from the spot to put LUQA ahead. LUQA were now sitting back to defend the advantage and creating chances through quick counter attacks, while TODOS pressed for a crucial equalizer with LUQA goalkeeper Paul Psaila performing some good saves. However in the final minute it was LUQA forward Mark Said who gained possession while defending who shot from the other side of the pitch to lob over TODOS goalkeeper who was caught out of his area. After 21 minutes the ref brought a close to this final match which was played in the most friendly manner by both teams. LUQA players celebrated this win which crowned them as 3rd/4th Division Knock Out Champions and thus claiming the Double for this season after winning all 14 matches played during this season in all competitions. Lee Baldachino was presented with the Winners shield.

The LUQA St Andrews FC Committee members would like to congratulate all the players and the coach for making such an impact in the Malta Futsal National League despite being the first year of participation for the club.
